The Men’s Rugby Club at Indiana University has long had great success and great support.
Now it’s time to take the next step. To remain a legitimate national championship contender means the supporters of Men’s Rugby at Indiana University must raise the bar. Again.
In 2015, our loyal alumni created something that few D1 rugby programs are lucky enough to have: An endowment that has allowed us to compete with the top varsity programs in the country.
While the endowment is a huge advantage, each year, only 4.5% of it’s value can be used to support the team. That, along with club dues from each athlete, doesn’t cover the team’s current budget, and is far less than the budgets of the top national programs we aim to compete with every year.
That’s where Friends of Hoosier Rugby - and you - come in.
It’s time to expand our list of supporters and cover the gap between what we need to compete at the next level and the team’s current operating budget. Friends of Hoosier Rugby is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to doing just that.

Direct to the team’s bottom line.
Your generous gift to Friends of Hoosier Rugby will go directly to the team’s operating costs, covering the gap between our current budget and what we need to be competitive with the upper levels of college rugby, year in and year out.
Friends of Hoosier Rugby is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit, and your gift is deemed tax-deductible absent any limitations on deductibility applicable to a particular taxpayer. It may also be matchable if your employer matches charitable contributions.
What expenses have your gifts covered and will help cover?
Repairing, maintaining and upgrading training gear (jerseys, ruck pads, scrum sled).
Purchase of a Veo camera that records games and practices and uses AI to analyze performance.
Paying for team meals and travel to play against higher level competition outside our region (in the past, the team had to float travel expenses on a coach’s credit card, a practice we could not continue)
Adding athletic trainers to our games and practices
Providing compensation for additional support staff, including specialist coaches, videographers and analysts
Assisting in the establishment of a dedicated rugby training facility
Your level of support will determine how big we can dream.
While Friends of Hoosier Rugby will focus on supporting the team’s annual budget, 10% of donations will go to the endowment, recognizing the alumni leadership that has supported the team’s growth and pushed us to continue to excel, both on and off the pitch.

If you’re an alumnus who graduated a little longer ago, please commit to a monthly recurring gift of $25 per month or more!
If you’re an alumnus who graduated longer ago than you care to think about, please commit to a monthly recurring gift of $50 per month or more!
If you’re a parent or grandparent, please commit to a monthly gift of $20 per month or more!
If you’re a friend, please commit to a monthly gift or make a one-time donation.
